At Knauf Insulation, we are committed to measuring and reducing the environmental impact of our products, as well as reporting these impacts in a transparent way.
We’re committed to providing the market with the information about our products it needs, to be able to properly assess the environmental impact of their final products / solutions.
In assessing the sustainability of our products, we examine every stage of our product’s life-cycle in minute detail, from cradle to grave, through LCA (Life Cycle Assessment). This information is then processed and published as an EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) or EFS (Environmental Fact Sheet). We are leading the industry in providing such precise information.
We’re pioneering in product sustainability; this is shown by the fact that we have dramatically cut the time needed to create an EPD through an innovative data collection system and pre-verification of part of the process. Creating the document involves highly intensive and wide-ranging data collection, hundreds of calculations and rigorous verification.
To aid our customers in quickly assessing the environmental impacts of our products, we provide a three-page overview of each EPD, which we call an Environmental Fact Sheet (EFS). This overview presents the most important information contained in the EPD but is presented in a condensed and summarized form.
To get an info about EFS for any of the Knauf Insulation OEM products, get in touch with our

Environmental Product Declaration
We continually update our list of EPDs, which is a collation of EPDs published on the various program operators listed below. We believe each EPD should give the right information for every product listed on the EPD.
Our EPDs are published using in general a unit of 1 m2, with their thermal resistance value and their dedicated specific thickness. While this enables our EPDs to be more precise, they can be also adjusted to needed thickness values.
