Knauf Insulation is an established company with 30 years of experience in the insulation industry. As such we represent one of the fastest growing and most respected names in insulation worldwide, and are recognised as one of the insulation leaders in the OEM industry. With a separate OEM business division within Knauf Insulation, we work to drive our own innovative development and to design new products according to each customer's specific needs.

Our company is a leading European producer of chimney insulation. Precise fabrication ensures a perfect fit of insulation with the chimney shaft – a key element in achieving optimal energy efficiency of the complete chimney system.

Knauf Insulation follows an explicit strategy of continuous new product development to offer our customers and the final chimney market a complete range of rock mineral wool products. To this end the company has recently invested in a new production line where we are now able to produce granulated rock mineral wool fibres – “flocks”, specially designed for insulation of double-wall stainless steel chimney systems. We call this newly developed product Knauf Insulation CHM S Flocks.

KNAUF INSULATION CHM S FLOCKS are bio-soluble rock mineral wool flocks made of virgin, non-phenolised rock mineral wool. Due to their optimized properties, they are a perfect solution for thermal, sound and fire insulation of double-wall stainless steel chimneys. Optimized lubricant content enables a good flow of material in the chimney insulation process.

KNAUF INSULATION CHM S FLOCKS are produced by grinding layers of non-phenolized rock mineral wool into smaller particles. Different settings of the production line enable the production of different flock sizes. At the chimney producer, flocks are blown into the space between the inner and outer wall of a stainless-steel chimney.

KNAUF INSULATION CHM S FLOCKS have plenty of advantages for stainless-steel chimney producers, the most important being:

  1. Installation of insulation is quick and simple, regardless of the diameter of the chimney.
  2. Only one product can be used for different chimney diameters (big advantage in comparison to pipe sections, where every product needs to be adjusted to each chimney diameter).
  3. Flocks are packed in compressed bags, which results in lower transport and storage costs.

In the end, this means lower costs for insulation used in stainless-steel chimney systems.

KNAUF INSULATION CHM S FLOCKS meet all the standard requirements for the insulation of stainless steel chimney systems.
